8:00am General Registration opens 9:00am Festival Area opens 9:00am This will be a tear tag timed run. Age groups will be split: 16 & under, 17 to 39, 40+ for both Men & Women. Prizes will be given for the top 3 place sin each age group. 9:30am ‘Round About 1K Fun Run/Walk This will be a fun run/walk open to all ages. The course will in the park around the festival area. Click here for a map 10:00am Ride to designated spots on the Barton Creek Greenbelt and get your playing cards. The best & worst hands at the end of the ride wins some cool bike stuff. This ride will be led by Team Race Like a Girl. They will show beginner riders skills and techniques. ( No additional fee to compete ) 10:00am - 5:00pm Rock Climbing Wall Open A rock climbing wall presented by Fidelity Investments will be setup for kids of all ages to take a turn at climbing. 10:00am - 5:00pm TrailFest Kid's Activity Zone Open Activities will include hat making, face painting, balloon animals, archery alley ( not real arrows...), relay races by YouthInterACTIVE including the sack race, 3-legged race and the human wheel-barrow race! Also, kid's can bounce around in the Jumpasaurus or go into the Funbus, a school bus professionally equipped as a Gymnastics Academy on Wheels for 18 months to 6 years old. The bus is filled with preschooler-sized gymnastics equipment such as bars, beams, trapeze, rings, monkey bars, mini-trampoline, climbing wall, springboard, mini-vault and mats. 10:00am - 5:00pm Come test your bike handling skills on some fun, creative obstacles. 12:00 Noon Kid’s & Family Fun Ride A fun, mini-course will be set up for kids to test their riding skills and learn new ones. Once they’ve ridden the mini-course, they are encouraged to participate in the “kid’s fun race”. Everyone participating will be a winner and get an award. 1:00pm- 2:00pm Cross-Country Navigation and Wilderness Survival Class with Derrick Wright with The Terrain Association Being able to operate independently in the outdoors requires confidence in your abilities, and that confidence comes from instruction, practical application and practice. If you enjoy being in the outdoors, compete in an outdoor sport, work in the outdoors, or would just like to try something that will exercise your mind as well as your body, this is for you! 1:00pm - 3:00pm Mountain Bike Rodeo Come test your “other“ bike skills at these fun events. Featuring Bike Limbo – how low can go and still be on your bike, Bunny Hop – how high can you fly on your bike, Slow Ride – how slow can you ride. This is the one time where the slowest rider wins! Log Pull – how fast can you pedal that bike while pulling a big log, the Wheelie Contest – how far can you ride on one wheel and the Bike Toss – you think your bike is heavy. Let’s see how far you can toss an old Huffy! 1:00pm - 6:00pm Beer Garden Complimentary Adult Beverages! Sponsored by New Belgium Brewing and Real Ale Brewing Company, we will have our very own "Beer Garden". It will be conveniently located for great viewing of all of the events going on throughout the day, including the Mountain Bike Race at 5pm. All registered participants 21 and over will have their IDs checked at registration/check-in and be given a wristband and 3 beer coupons that can be redeemed in the beer garden. Beer must be consumed in the designated area only. 3:00pm – 5:00pm Participants will bike/run/walk/hike in and around the Zilker Park to complete a scavenger hunt for clues. The goal will be to educate participants about the many natural resources that exist within the park and its surrounding trail system. You can be as competitive or as relaxed as you prefer on this fun adventure. It will be easy enough for families to participate and have fun. There will be prizes awarded to teams based on time and points gained throughout the race. Teams need to gather at 2:45pm at the start, which will be marked and very obvious that day, with the race starting promptly at 3:00pm. It is an additional $10 per team to enter. 5:00pm How fast can your sprint? Come find out at the Texas Trailfest Zilker Park Mountain Bike Crit Race. Men and women race separately. Women start at 5:00, ride for 12 minutes plus one lap. Men start at 5:30, ride for 15 minutes + one lap. 6:00pm Texas TrailFest Awards Ceremony Awards will be presented for the following: the Obstacle Course, Zilker Park Mountain Bike Race and Scavenger Hunt. We will also do prize drawings giving away products form all of our sponsors and gift various restaurants in Austin....mmmmmmmmmm
